He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46:10 NIV
When storms of war are raging,
when all you see is strife.
When every bit of news seems bad
so you’re afraid to step outside.
Remember the battle is the Lord’s,
He alone holds high ground.
So listen closely, Pilgrim
for the trumpet sound,
and be still.
Be still, and know I am God.
I didn’t bring you to the battle
just to leave you.
Be still. I have your back.
I know your destination, oh.
Be still, be still.
My child, be still.
Just because you can’t see around the corner
of your block, let alone the future,
that’s all the more, reason, to rely on the one
who knew you…
before…
anyone knew you.
Be still, and know I am God.
I didn’t bring you to the battle
just to leave you.
Be still. I have your back.
I know your destination, oh.
Be still, be still.
My child, my own, be still.
