On the Eve of Thanksgiving,
we’re grateful in advance
for the family and friends
who will share our repast.
Because it’s not so much
that with turkey we’re smitten,
but rather the fact we all gather bidden,
to enjoy the bounty with which we are blessed
and remember those loved ones from Thanksgivings past.

Knife & fork poised… 🙂
Glad for you; enjoy the day.
I’m reading a lot of posts about family togetherness right now, but in your celebrations do remember others less ‘blessed’ with kin who care.
I’ve never once gathered with my family for Thanksgiving — or any other holiday, either. Nothing but a funeral brings us siblings all together. We don’t really do ‘together.’
